The Polaroid Portrait Project
This project is all about our identities.
What is inside of us and what is outside of us.
With this series of Polaroid portraits I am trying to convey this internal-external duality with the instantaneous Polaroid Sx70.
All are diptychs.
My plan is to enlarge these Polaroids, and then exhibit them as part of a much larger project for which I will only use traditional film cameras like the Hassleblad 500cm or the Pentacon 6.
I prefer using the square format for this project because it involves a more central focus for the eye. This is something that I consider essential for the portrait project.
For now, I can no longer consider shooting portraiture with 24x36 or any of the other rectangular formats.
I hope you will like it and email me about with your thoughts.
