The Last Bastions DIY documentary

This music documentary was made to pay tribute to venues, past & present, in New Jersey. The film center around the history of the Court Tavern and the Melody Bar in New Brunswick, NJ, also The Dirt Club in Bloomfield, NJ, City Gardens in Trenton, NJ, The Brighton Bar in Long Branch, NJ & Stone Pony, Asbury Lanes, Casion SK8 P, The Saint in Asbury Park, NJ and Maxwell's in Hoboken, NJ... It's about the clubs that were owned by music fans who booked their own shows and tended their own bar. These independent owners and entrepreneurs started an atmosphere in which like - minded people could congregate and listen to ground-breaking original music. The bands that played at these places enhanced the atmosphere and original art and music scenes were created - some lasting for over 2 decades. Some are still thriving. This film could be considered a news story and is not being produced by a major motion picture studio. I just wanted to say thanks to everyone for coming and supporting The Last Bastions test screening Friday & Saturday Sept 4 & 5 at the New Jersey Film Festival and The Court Tavern on August 28th. Special thanks to Bob, Eileen & Cassius Albert. The documentary is still undergoing many changes before the documentary is finish in 2010. Fritch
