Old School Tango

A few steps from Almagro Park, in Buenos Aires City, you find El Conventillo de Teodoro, a place that you will not probably find in the tour guides of the city, away from the "cliche" tango scene that most tourists have, this place has a little more of the real thing. A place that opens all days, no luxury, no disguisses or great lights, not a show, just a place with a few wooden tables and seats, where people began arriving, a few beers, maybe some "empanadas", after midnight the tangueros begin to arrive, take a seat a beer and the guitars start, a voice rises betweeen all the people voices, the loud and strong voice of a tanguero is heard, people began to listen and quiet, the tango night has begun, between amateurs and veterans, old and young, share the stage, stage that is no more than a space between the tables and chairs, the night goes on, wine, beer run until dawn, a night of tango, happily different than the postcard tango scene, in the tourist guides.
