Angle It!

This summer my boyfriend and I went on a road trip of the USA. We did 48 states in 28 days, in total driving 16,000 miles through scenic drives, national parks, and small towns. I wanted to create a piece of art that would represent this trip for me. I was moving my camera around randomly without looking into the viewfinder and got these really awesome ground in the corner shots. When out in the open country you can see the sky and clouds for miles and with the ground in the corner it gives them the focus while creating a unique look at the land. In this way you can capture more specific items without zooming in and allowing more matter in the photograph. Although a lot of my pictures were taken going 65mph in the passenger side of a car some photos I was able to chose what the subject in the corner would be whether it was a fence, a cow, a lake, trees or whatever. It gives a new heightened importance to the object while keeping it almost a secret in the small corner. In the end I'm going to connect all of the photos to make squares of land in the middle of skies and put them on canvas to hang in my apartment. The photos I chose definitely give a unique look at all the different terrains we saw from bayou, lakes, forests, and backroads. It also gives the photo and eye catching dynamic that draws you in to see the groups together as a whole.
