The HandleBars

Guys from various bands in Fresno's underground Hardcore, Punk, and Metal scenes came together to form a post-punk thematic band centered on inverting gender roles, and stereotypes and having a great time doing it.
Calling themselves The HandleBars (two words or one?), they have an intense sound somewhere betweem metal and punk, but with a heavy dose of old school edgy hilarity. Reminiscent of Fresno's 90s band Circus Bogus, these guys aim to have a great raucous time, but dont let their costumes fool you, they have lots of talent.
Most of these photos are from the HandleBars' practice; some photos are of their homeboys who came to listen to thier music while drinking some brews on a hot Fresno August night; some of photos are from the after-gathering at the local punk rock bar in Fresno's art district, Audie's Olympic Tavern. All the photos capture the essence of the night, the people, and the places that surround this scene.
