Glaciers cover up to 3% of Swiss soil. For 150 years, glaciers Swiss lost 9 cubic kilometers of ice, or 12% of their volume.
At this rate, these jewels of the Swiss Alps will have disappeared by almost a century, says glaciologist Martin Funk. The only solution, he said, is to reduce emissions of greenhouse gases.
