Dead Sea - My favorite place to CHILL

Dead Sea

My favorite place to chill is at the Dead Sea in Israel.

The Dead Sea is a salt lake between the West Bank and Israel to the west, and Jordan to the east. It is said to be the lowest point on Earth, at 420 m (1,378 feet) below sea level, its shores are actually the lowest point on dry land. The Dead Sea is also the deepest hypersaline lake in the world so you don't swim in it you float.

The sea is called "dead" because its high salinity means no macroscopic aquatic organisms such as fish or water plants can live in it, though minuscule quantities of bacteria and microbial fungi are present.

I often sneak out in the middle of the night and float...knowing that absolutely nothing will nip at my feet makes me feel so safe. People from all over the world also come because the sea possesses great healing powers and those with skin problems find great natural relief.

It seems that this sea also attracts interesting people from every culture and I always want to photograph...even though I'm on vacation and have promised my husband that I won't.

Here are a variety of shots taken on different trips over the years. Most recently at a resort...

Your so lucky that you get to sneak off at night to go there... I got to visit from the Jordanian side last summer and there we got done up in really black mud... absolutely brilliant place.
