Daily Self Portraits

I have never liked being in front of the camera. It makes me very uncomfortable and I rarely like pictures of myself so I was a little hesitant about doing the daily self portraits. I do however like a challenge so decided to take this one on. It is difficult to try to come up with something different everyday. There are days when I feel a little more creative than other days. I am glad that I decided I was up for the challenge. There are few pictures of me around and the year 2009/10 will have 365 of them. My kids won't be asking why there are no pictures of me after I am gone.

This is an awesome story Regenia, with wonderful photos of you for your children to always enjoy and treasure. I must admit that I had never thought of it in that way, like you, I do most of the photography when we are all together, so I am rarely in a photo.

I have to laugh at your comment about not liking to be in photos. I think it's a photographer's phobia. I'd rather be behind the lens any time! Great project, Regenia!!!

I'm so....glad you took on this challenge. You are a real natural. All of your SP's look and feel like a slice of your life. None come across the least bit contrived. Together your SPs tell a vivid story about you as a wife and mother, as well as a photographer. And what a pleasure watching that story has been and continues to be.

I have really been enjoying your daily self portraits ... I think we learn to know you not only as an expert photographer but also the person behind the camera. I also have felt uncomfortable being photographed by anyone else taking my picture,,,but oddly I have begun to feel relaxed with doing self portraits where I can be myself...and if I don't like the pose I do it over again without hurting anyones feelings.I too wrote a photo essay earlier on the experience of self portraits..and once I took on the challenge I haven't regretted it.

Your self portrait are awesome! I wish I'll be able to do something similar...still do not like to put myself in front of the camera, feel "out of place" there...but JPG challanges are helping me!
