glass pairings

i collect colored glass, art glass, glass from the depression era...glass from the sea that has been washed smooth...a piece that starts out beautiful, functional, and at some point, gets tossed into the water, abandoned, broken, useless, without function and therefore without the possibility of use. someone finds it, smiles at its patterns, its age. sets it atop a piece of glass from another time and place. the place where they touch...magic for the lens. these are glass marriages, sometimes one broken, one whole, but in pairing, all are made beautiful...but still breakable.
