What city do you live in? What neighborhood?
Dallas Georgia
Mt. Tabor Ch. Rd. New Hope area.
What are some adjectives that describe your neighborhood?
I live on a rural road , use to be country- like out in the sticks- now has a school across the road- park nearby. lots of traffic- especially when school starts.
How long have you lived there, and what brought you there?
Moved in this house, in this neighborhood 32 yrs.ago! My son was five years old-- I was leaving Savh Ga. where I lived in a bad neighborhood- kids run wild- lots af drugs-- My Mom lived next door and they had this house for sale ,so I moved back here.
What is your favorite thing about this place? Your least favorite?
Trying to think what "favorite thing" would be , guess maybe I have a big yard, neighbors dont bother you. close enough for protection and far enough away to have your privacy.
Least favorite--- Live far to close to the road and there is a lot of traffic with school in the mornings.
Do you feel that you belong there?
No not really- I went out west and I feel like I belong out there somewhere.
What is the most common misconception about where you live?
We have this weekly news paper and everything in it is almost always good. even tho we have crime, etc. Paper would make you think we have none of that!
What is a special fact about your city that you have to live there to know?
We have Travis Tritt and Patty Loveless living in this county if that counts- dont know if we ever invented anything here.
People wouldnt know ,that once not to many years ago-- everyone knew everyone else in the county, just in recent years we have a lot more people.
What aspect of your city do you secretly love?
-"High Shoals" a water fall, way down in these woods- my Mom parents use to own the land when she was a kid.
Anything else you'd like to add?
Yes when I retire- I want to write my memoirs and it will be a big portion about this place- maybe someone will find them and they will get in some museum in this county. Who knows??
