Antique Race Cars

B&W Wheel-suspension Abstract

On a late May Saturday my friend Dave (he is the car buff) and I went to Millville, NJ to see antique race cars. And - they actually raced as well. It turns out there were a lot of delays and it took a long time before the cars actually got to run; when they did, the safety barriers of the track made it really tough to get close enough for any decent pix.

But - there was great access to the cars in the pit area. It was so cool to see simple, elegant machines that could be worked on WITHOUT a computer science degree!

The high-tech multi-million dollar race machine of today are interesting, but there is a lot to be said for a simple car and engine that can be tuned with a couple wrenchs and a pair of pliers.
