I am lucky living near Dolomiti and Alps. It does not take long travels by car to be surrounded by them and feeling enclosed in their beauty. I am even luckier now that I go around with my camera: I feel like I have new eyes which allow me to see more beauty every time I walk somewhere I have already been to.

I started going to the mountains before being able to walk! My parents carried me on their backs. And I am talking of about 29 years ago, when "rucksacks for babies" was not so comfortable as nowadays! Passion for walking was greater than any difficulty and I have inherited this passion from my parents.

Since I have had a camera in my hand I started to catch what mountains mean to me. The strongest feeling I try to communicate is the amazing sensation of being in a magic land with nobody in front of me and nobody following my steps. There is only me and nature, real and wild nature, hard slope and climb, weariness and happiness.

I was learnt to never choose places which are too famous and too "haunted" by people. It is so easy to switch from the main paths and find yourself in heaven! I do not want to claim famous mountains and peaks are not beautiful, I just feel better elsewhere. I feel better when I can hear the sound of my snowshoes and see a sprawl of never-touched snow in front of me!

All of this pictures come from Dolomiti, Altopiano di Asiago and Italian Alps. I usually never add the excact place where I have shoot a picture below it, if you want to learn more about this ask and I'll answer!
