Nature at its best: Series 6 – Koh Chang the eastern tourist frontier of Thailand

SUMMER IS JUST AROUND the corner and planning a holiday is a perfect time to do. Thailand is one of those Asian countries that I personally recommend as an ideal place for short summer escapades.
This Buddhist nation is close to my heart since I set my feet in Don Muang Airport 18 years ago to pursue my postgraduate program in urban planning. That was also my first travel abroad - to be away from home for almost 3 years!
Visiting Thailand is always a delight that reminds me of so many "first" beautiful things happened in my life. During my recent trip, I did not stay in Bangkok but I explored the eastern seaboard, just near Cambodia. Five hours by bus (from Ekamia station at Sukhumvit Road), then 1.5 hours by mini bus and 1 hour by ferry, I reached Koh Chang Island.
Koh Chang is recognised as a natural park and the second largest island in the country, next to Phuket. Being a natural reserved area, it offers both inland and marine attractions such as tropical rain forests, waterfalls, sandy beaches and coral reefs which is becoming a world tourist destination in Asia.
Aside from having an exotic tan, island boat trip is a must-thing to do while exploring this Thai natural park and enjoy the presence of different species of colourful fish and corals. Getting a traditional Thai massage is a treat for everyone as the sun goes down the horizon.
Sawadee khrap!

The beast of burden lay forgotten, and like it's coat lost amidst the gray fog.
