Bad times for the photo industry?

It has been only 3 weeks since I signed up for JPG and I have to say that I have seen some great photos around, it is a very inspiring photography site. I am surprised with the goodbye of JPG but year 2008 has been a bad one for photo companies. Digital railroad, Photoshelter Collection and now JPG magazine (I guess that others also). Hope that there will be some last minute solution, and that they can find some light at the end of the tunnel. Hope that 2009 will be a better year for the photography industry.
