Being a writer, I often write a short story and then try to capture its essence in a photo. This is one such shot. Many of my shorts are dark and I often find myself captured by the darkness even though others may see something completely different. Here's a chance to title this photo and possibly get the accompanying story dedicated (in an exhibition limited to 40 prints) to you. And...if you write the story or poem, 20% of my proceeds will go to you! Have at it!!!
The photo will be 9 inches by 6 inches. The mat is 10 inches by 14 inches and has the story/poem printed on it. The white mat is surrounded by a 1/2 inch black frame.
Update 9/08/08: And the winner for the title is Bill Hathaway. Of course, the poem is somewhat off-limits but the concept fits my original intent.

"Ephemeral" because it reminds me that both the beauty of a green tree in summer and the fresh crispness of autumn are both temporary.

My use is not fallen to ruin, I go to lie at the base of my tree, I will rise through the roots of my tree, I will become the essence of as I was, and will be again, on my tree.
