Yesterday I went to the last McCarren Park Pool Party of the summer. The first two bands were a little strange, but Yo La Tengo pretty much rocked my world (as a first time listener). You can definitely tell a professional band from amateur by the quality of sound that comes out of the mikes. And the sound that came out was a sweet, sweet melody (interspersed with lovely harmonies).
