The Temple of Heaven is considered to be the most holy of Beijing Imperial temples. The Emperor moved to the temple from the Forbidden City, during winter solstice, to worship heaven and to pray for a good harvest.
In 2008, the grounds of the Temple of Heaven are still a place of peace and beauty.
