From Botanical Gardens these flies were hanging out in a star shaped bloom of a cactus plant.

a carrion flower. not actually a cactus, but a succulent. the blooms smell like rotting flesh to attract flies for pollination. there are several different varieties, one of which i have in my back yard... the blooms don't last long. cool capture!

Wow, I am amazed to find the same flower I have on my site. But, mine does not include the flies.
