This topsy-turvy bus was commissioned by none other than the "Ben" of Ben&Jerry's Ice Cream. It serves as a visual metaphor in order to draw attention to and educate people on the complete absurdity of the spending habits of the U.S. government and it's "upside down" budget priorities. If just a fraction of the funds set forth for our military arsenal were set aside, we could spend tens of billions more on schools and health care. The bus was designed by Stefan Sagmeister and brought to life by artists Tom Kennedy and Haideen Anderson, who create some of the epic art cars for Burning Man. The Bus is part of the fleet of art cars used to promote the ideals of the nonprofit group Business Leaders for Sensible Priorities.
