This picture has been taken during a manifestation in Montreal against police brutality. Days and weeks before this annual manifestation, daily protest has been done by students of Quebec's public university to denounce the direction and the government's bad decisions in the university financial crisis. To protect themselves from lachrymal gases and pepper spray, still used by policemen, the young people wear scarves which hide completely their head and leave a small space for the eyes to see. These scarves and the unusual violence that occurs during these social manifestations transform students into warriors and the city into an incomprehensible desert. Walking in the streets become dangerous and speaking openly even more.
