I am told that this Arachnid is commonly called a "catfaced spider". Note the orange body with cat "cheeks". Her bite is not dangerous. She surprised me by inhabiting my wheelbarrow since last I used it so I imposed upon her for a few portraits.

Hello folks - I need to correct my misinformation. Did some research on Google and if this IS a Cat-Face spider (and it most likely is) then it is harmless to people (unless you count heart palpitations). So . . . please don't unnecessarily kill these guys. My source, who shall remain nameless, is now fully discredited.

After scouting over 100 pages this morning and turning up these 7 spider pics (3 of one subject) I can confirm that butterflies are more favored subjects with fire hydrants running just slightly behind spiders. And the race is on!
