All together eight bullet proof glass covered engines have been provided to run both goods and passenger train in the Lumding- Silchar hill section of North East Frontier railways from today, where train services were suspended on May 15, 2008, following a series of attacks by DHD (J) militants.
The Lumding –Silchar hill section is the main supply line for the Barak valley in southern Assam, apart from Mizoram, Tripura and southern Manipur.
