1 Million Gallons
While not from Beijing. This was the most important swim trials leading up to it. The atmosphere was very charged and exciting and Omaha was very honored and proud to be the host city.
The Qwest Center in Omaha, NE. hosted the 2008 Olympic swim trials. Omahans and swim fans nation wide watched world records broken by Michael Phelps and 41 year old Dara Tores. Tores will swim in her 5th Olympics in Beijing as the oldest woman ever to compete. Having won medals before many of her current competitors were born, Tores was not only a mother figure to her team but an inspiration to her fans as well.
Transforming the basketball floor to a championship 50 meter pool required a weeks time and one million gallons of water.

Looks like you were up in the press box. Excellent pic under presumably difficult lighting.
