For Carmen, the woman who was a powerful force in shaping my destiny. She is in the other world of advanced Alzheimers (sic) now, at age 85. We who know her are loving witnesses to the intelligence, passion, and joy she shared with us all of our lives. For me she will always be a bright flame that never dims.

Among the most stunning and moving photo portraits on the site. SO GLAD you took in the room, as well, and her still figure, as Joseph said above. Here she is: mind gone, soul, perhaps already with God...

A subject such as this can easily be sensationalized or photographed without sensitivity. You have done quite the opposite, photographing her with love and dignity. We really don't need such a long caption, the picture says it all.
