Bronze orange bug

These insects look beautiful but are the bane of my citrus plants.

Known as the Bronze orange bug (Musgraveia sulciventris), it is a sap sucker that attacks the growing shoots of citrus.

In this case its attacking my mandarin, and the bits of growing shoot will die off if they are left on the plant.

We always take some care getting rid of them as they exrete a real stink when disturbed.
