This was lit only by a candelabra to set the mood...the 5 candles almost threw to much light..I watched stanley kubricks barry lyndon movie 1 to many times and was dazzled by all the candle scenes he used and no other lighting whatsoever...

Jason Platt: This is a masterpiece. It contains every element a masterful photo should. Gorgeous light, subtlties, romance, a poetic feeling, and it is very moving. It is so classic; it could have been taken at any time, any place, any country. Classic photography undoes time, while yet capturing it. It freezes the nanosecond that the shutter clicked, but it also transcends time and puts itself in an enitrely different category, once taken.This is among the finest images on this site. it also has a ghostly quality that is both unsettling AND beautiful.

this is a very nice picture with many possible meanings. the one that struck me instantly was a scary movie from the 80s. i can just imagine a curious person walking down the stairs trying to find out who is standing there wearing a wedding dress.....even though they know they should be home alone (ok...my daughter's IM just "shut the door" and i almost jumped clean out of my skin!).....Yeah that's a GOOD shot!!

wonderful! i love the lighting and the tones. gives me a kinda creepy feeling too... i think because of the surroundings.. the starkness of the wood vs. the softness of the dress/light. great work, jas!
