Old City, Aleppo. The ancient wall is busy with signs indicating directions to a mosque, a hotel, a restaurant, and an ad. May 2008.

This is MARVELOUS - classic. What of those shoes on the wall? And is that a sewing machine below? NO! A sharpener??? What stories photos as this tell, what lives come into play here? The shadows are amazing, and the red light below, left?? A perfect punctuation mark for an entire poetic paragraph, all, from a single image...

Never mind the signs - the shoes, the chair pulled up to the table with the sewing machine-like contraption on it, etc. Really a lot to look at here that is out of the ordinary. Great find, Farras. + vote
