A Cavalry Soldier's Last Stand
Along the ridges and swales of the Custer battlefield along a path several miles long, are sporadic markers alone, in twos or in clumps which each mark a spot where some of the 244 soldier's bodies lay at the conclusion of the Battle of the Little Big Horn - June 25, 1876. This marker - for one of the cavalry led by Lt. Col. Custer, sits on a lonely bluff overlooking the Little Big Horn River.
