Hi there!

I thought you might like this photo on JPGmag.com:

Depression is a Bitch.

Despair is its cousin.

Desire, its bastard child.

"By virtue of depression, we recall those misdeeds we buried in the depths of our memory. Depression exhumes our shames."

E. M. Cioran, Anathemas and Admirations, 1986.

Today was a very, very bad day. So was yesterday. Wonder, how will tomorrow be???

"The best way to cheer yourself up is to cheer somebody else up."

Mark Twain.

So, there ya go. Here's the pic to make me feel all better by making you feel all better.

Nope Mark Twain, no dice.

Depression is feeling left out of other people's happiness.

Laura Hartley

And thanks, Peggy Sue. You are a TRUE friend and inspiration.

I agree with Laurie! Each day brings with it a new beginning and a new promise! Don't let yourself become stuck in that bed viewing old movies of your bad times in life! Besides, We all care about you!!!

There's so much each muscle tells us in this image. Like a dance of despair on a bed instead of a stage. Never give up! Laura, yours is a greatly creative talent. Unfortuately with such comes sensitivity which sometimes brings despair. Live the good things love, take health in all its forms even if you have to force feed yourself healthy living in all its forms, take it bite at a time. Give and take love in maximum amounts and the sun will shine again. (these things I know from my experience of Bi-Polar over the last 16 years. Hugs Karen

That's James Hartley, circa 1979! The hair is all gone now, but the face remains the same. That's the year we met. I have been doing photography for a long, long time.

I don't know if I have words of wisdom to share but.....I was laying in my bed almost the very same way..just a day ago!! Some times I wonder where I will find the strength to function each day! I want to throw the towel in and run away at times! That is my place to get swallowed up by darkness,my bed my comfort place, and my worst enemy. It s in those moments of darkness, that i can pull out my best most creative inspirations! You are a powerful gifted woman, that with out "depression" you would not be able to share such art with us! Does that even make sense?

If making us feel all better makes you feel all better then at least from my little spot of the world you should be getting a major dose of happiness!
Have some Cajun-Irish boudain and e-mail Dr. Leger in the morning. ;)

Hey Jo -- the wall in the guest room??? Oh my gosh - HOURS of paint and faux finish, thanks for noticing! Base, beige, covered in olive green, then fluffed over with alternating glazes of red, light gold, deep umber About six layers - my arm was killing me by the end! But hey, I have a minor in interio design, might as well use it! I'll send you a shot in color - it looks like marble. And Warren, Peggy, the lamps - tacky beige base from Dollar Store, faux painted daker brown. Shades - dee-luxe from New Orleans, and, might I add, FREE - left after the hurricane, in pefect shape, side of the road, beaded and with a green paisley pattern. Hey, if its lying there, it may as well have my name on it! I'd rather be ass-deep in a dumpster than anywhere, except my dark room! YES - can you see - I am not as depressed, thank you all!
