A Tear for Debbie

A co-worker of mine died of CANCER today, I hate that word. I participated in a 'chalk the walk' and dedicated mine to her. If you look close the face has a tear falling from its right(veiwers right) eye. We will miss you Debbie.

I am so very sorry for your loss Eric. I hate that fucking word and the disease too. I am now in my 8th year battling skin cancer, and it is proving to be my toughest year yet. I hate to hear of cancer winning over anyone .. my heart goes out to you, and to your friend's family too. I'm here if you ever need to talk. My thoughts are with you ..

Thank you both. Thanks Peggy for your comments. I work in a small newsroom and its hard when we loose someone. I have shot the local Relay For Life event 6 out of the last eight years and its gets harder each time. We lost Susan, then Wendy in 2005 and now Debbie yesterday. Debbie was the lifestyles editor and she would do the birthday celebrations in the newsroom, the football pool and she loved the same college as me when it came to sports. She was a funny, loud, boisterous gal. The last time I saw her was at Relay for Life in May and I thought I was going to talk her but after the first lap she was to sick and had to leave. I took photos of her and will post one or two after I write this. I wish you the best Peggy in your fight. My mom just went through having a bad mole removed and throat surgery. Like we both say, I HATE THAT FUCKING WORD.

I'm so, so sorry. I have lost too many friends just since the year I was diagnosed myself.......it was one year ago today.
