The first time I ever went to Colorado, there was an unexpected spring snowstorm and the highways were shut down west of Denver. I pulled the truck onto an exit ramp and slept the night there. The next morning, it was a beautiful, but grey day, if a bit cold. Looking out of the driver's window of my truck, was this pine tree about 40 feet away just looking so sad to be under such weight.
