Pacific Ghost Highway

. . . . In a time not all too long ago I was always drinking Nyquil; even so, I could never sleep. I also shot film. I dealt with things late at night on the beach. It seemed to work out alright in the long run.

when my mom was dying i drove her up this stretch of highway to a hospital in Santa Barbara. i remember looking out at that landscape, and that particular curve and thinking *this is it*. i still can't drive from LA to Santa Barbara without feeling strange. are you sure you took this on 11.15? my mom's birthday was 11.11
    maybe it's her ghost.

Yeah I'm pretty sure, I checked the date on the lab sheet with the negs. It is such a drive, definitely haunting if its late enough at night and you have the right sound track. I'm sorry about your mother. I could think of worse places to haunt ;-)

I traveled it many times. The scenes are surreal.
