Confederacy of Dunces
Lucky Dog’s wiener-shaped vending carts have historic status in the French Quarter and are the only food carts allowed in the district (the legality of the restriction was upheld by the U.S. Supreme Court).
The hero of John Kennedy Toole’s Pulitzer Prize-winning 'Confederacy of Dunces' -- Ignatius J. Reilly -- was, for a brief stint, a Lucky Dog vendor.
