Old City, Damascus. Remains of Jupiter Roman temple, dating back to 3rd century. Open square separating Souq al-Hamidiyya ("souq" is arabic for market) and Umayyad mosque. April 2008.

Farras, this shot, and all from the great story, but this one in particular, a masterpiece in the vein of Cartier-Bresson and Kertesz. Astonishingly classic and gorgeous.
