Bizarre Glitch

When I first opened this, my folder for my Epson 2400 Pro printer profiles opened. It was probably a file glitch (wasn't written properly to the disk) but I can't say for sure. This is definitely going to be included in my files I send to the gallery (as it also came out at 15.1 mb).

I forgot I had my camera set at +3 exposure compensation and took my light reading off the darkest part of the shell (spot metering). Wow...I will be trying this again! My flash was also set to positive exposure compensation (due to my need for great reflections in some of my previous shots and true white backgrounds). Back in my college days, I use to do watercolors just like this. I would add a light blue wash to a small portion of the top and a light brown wash to a small portion of the bottom (oh yeah, I was just as creative as all the beach artists). Oh, the excitement of finding a mistake that really works. This could be a great new theme for a JPG issue!

I brought up the black a bit in the RAW file but that was about it. Eureka!

If you have a shot uploaded to JPG that was a true surprise when you saw it for the second time (first time was through the viewfinder), please post the link with your comment. I do believe the JPG editors would be interested in this for a theme.

To see what my watercolor of this shot would have looked like (back in my creative college days), go to my SmugMug page.
