The Crysler Building in mid-town Manhattan, as seen through a window of the Smallpox Hospital (Renwick Ruin) on Roosevelt Island.
The original building was designed by noted architect James Renwick Jr. who also designed St. Patricks cathedral in Mid-Town. It is situated at the southern tip of Blackwell's (later renamed Welfare and then Roosevelt) Island.
This was by far one of my favorite places to explore because you are completely alone, yet there are literally millions of people just a stone's throw away over the East River.
