Brush with Death

We found her abandoned on the side of a country road, starving to death and sick with Parvo. After 7 days in the hospital, and numerous phone calls from the vet saying that she would probably die, Pearl took a turn for the best and beat the odds. I took this picture of her the first day we got her home from the hospital. Now, a little over a month later, she has gained over 10 pounds, stolen the hearts of her new family members, and totally taken over our household! The vet said that she may even grow to be a 50 pound dog. It’s hard to believe when only a month ago she was 3 pounds! She’s our little “miracle girl”!

added touch at composing the photograph with her facing away from us, it added to the loneliness/abandonment feel

Good job on the image and the rescue :-). It would be interesting to see a series showing how the pup progresses and grows.

Good idea Ray! I will post pictures of Pearl as she grows. She's already looking a ton better. I just posted an updated one of her so you can see how much weight she's put on.
