It was the end of a long cold and bitter winter in Massachusetts. I was walking home from the train after a long day and saw this makeshift table. These guys down the street had been constructing this house throughout the winter. I remember seeing them in the morning with multiple layers on as they hammered the skeleton of the house into shape. Then, on this day, a balmy 75 degree turnaround from the 40 degrees the day before, these men built their table and savored the precious warmth. It brought me back to my years working in a wood shop. It's hard labor and for those precious minutes during lunch, you feel completely free. I'd lean back in my dilapidated chair and soak in the sun. I had my time to sit back and really feel alive, and on that day, these guys had theirs.

It may not look like it, but this picture is really beautiful. I love your additional commenting to go along with it at the bottom!

I have looked through about 70 photos and this is the first one that made me stop and look. Really a great photo, especially the use of Depth of field. Does it belong in the Democracy theme? ...Still a great image.
