Where I live you can identify the economic and ethnc backgrounds of kids by what sports they play. Soccer, despite all the carribean families here, is dominated by the middle class whites. Baseball to the woking class whites. Pop Warner football is strongly dominated by Black families ad their children. So this image speaks to me about identification..belonging..pride and purpose....and also, because there is something distant in his eyes
