Artifact of Faith

A small and old artifact I found while doing archaeological excavations near a catholic church located in a small town in the province of Quebec, Canada.

This shot is more irony than faith, but then maybe that is the point.

Thanks to both of you for taking time to comment this picture.
Gary, you are free to see some irony if you want to. But this was certainly not my point; this is simply a crucifix that was lost by someone a long time ago and recently recovered by archaeologists (i.e. me). This crucifix was probably attached to a small chain and worn around the neck. As such, I thought it could perfectly illustrates the personnal religious faith of an unknown person in the past.
To some extent, the fact that it was lost (or even, perhaps, thrown away for some reason) may be seen as indicative of the declining catholic religion in Québec (and elsewhere) in the course of the last half-decade or so. But this is history, not necessarily irony. Besides, irony is not derision; many times it can be very efficient to generate meaningful thoughts about something.
