Ali Soratgar, Portrait Drawing at Dupont Circle / WDC . 8 July 2007

During my Sunday afternoon, 8 July 2007 photo walk through Dupont Circle, Ali Soratgar was one of two portrait drawers that I'd capture. A second was his colleaque Ali Amini.

Yards from the two portrait drawers was also a pastel chaulk drawer who, according to Soratgar and Amini, is a well known and respected artist in the Washington DC area.

Street artists including musicians who may or may not be 'buskers' are only one of the many reasons that Dupont Circle is considered as one of the best neighborhood parks in the nation's capital.

At the east side of the circle, on any given day of the week from early morning until dusk, you'll find chesser players of many different levels of professionalism.

Folks of many different backgrounds, income levels and diversity, including many who are homeless, gather and congregate at Dupont Circle throughout the day ... and year.

When it WDC, situated between 20th and 18th Streets and O and Q Streets, NW, and through which both Massachusetts and Connecticut Avenues intersect ... Dupont Circle is a neighborhood park that you must visit.
