well "old school" infrared will read through soft fabrics, so you have to be careful what you're sporting, and, closeups don't really work because the eyes turn to olives, so it's better distant and/or looking away. without the coat, you would see through the dress totally. the coat is denser and dark, so it doesn't let the image read through it.
