Desolate
This photo is hot! Share it!
For some reason this is how I've felt recently.
Probably just over tired, but I find great solace in my photography and also then in front of the computer.
I wanted to create an image that gave off that feeling.
This is my attempt at that.

"So baby maybe I'll let your
Big wheel turn my fantasy
Don't you throw your shade on me
I've been drinking down your pain
I'm gonna turn that whiskey into rain
Wash it away"
OK, that was stupid...looks like a big wheel though. You've made this empty warehouse look cool-even if that wasn't your intent. -

There is great peace in carrying the camera to capture the feeling some scenes evoke. Then, putting the photo out there, you might find there are others who see it as you did and do, and who share the feelings you had when taking. Some feelings CAUSE the taking of certain images, and then invoke that feeling when viewed. You do this SO well, consistently. This beautifully captures desolation, and yet, centers on that strong, well defined form hanging there, set well apart by its completely different hue. This is a marvelous place I'd love to see.

Yes - I feel kinda sad and empty looking at. But I felt that way already. Must be something in the water, Gary. Great shot.

There is an emptiness here........and a damp chilly feeling evocative of loneliness.......but there is a strength in the presence of the red wheel; I too find taking my lens out and about very cathartic. On a lighter note, you needn't feel lonely -- now that we've all seen your latest self-portrait I'm pretty sure you could get some feminine jpg company pdq if you said the word (not that we haven't always loved you)...........;>))

You definitely achieved what you were going for. This is wonderful. I hope these feelings don't last for long. I'm rooting for you.

I dont get a sense of loneliness from this pic, I get a sense of exploration. There is so much to explore in the building. It looks like a painting. I wanna surf the line elements of the left half of the photo. The simplistic right half of the photo(single round object on pole) verses the the explorative left half of the photo give it a manical appearence. Two photos in one. I love it.
