An artist friend told me there's some sort of psychology behind wanting to photograph people on the floor. She wouldn't elaborate...Hmmm. I think Nicole looked so relaxed and candid like this.

This was taken with a Holga, back when they first came out with Polaroid backs for the square format. Since the viewfinder is covered up by the polaroid back, it's difficult to know where to aim, so we ended up with so many interesting polaroids with all this negative space in them. It somehow helped convey the character of the evening.
