It is a Jewish tradition to light fires on a day called "LAG BAOMER" . this is the silhouette of my kids, against the fire.

well, yes, it is on a specific date, but on the Jewish calendar, which is a Lunar calendar. So on the Solar calendar it is around mid May (up to 2 weeks before or after).
