Windy day in the Central Valley
I was in a hurry on a side road, had to go dictate some charts 'n come back quick when I saw wind blowing dust so nice I couldn't resist... What the heck, I stopped anyway at the side of this narrow rural road and took some shots...
Don't tell, but this was my 80 mi/hr road when I was late. Learned to drive in Rio, only here I wear seat belts tight. Nowadays I drive like a turtle to $ave gas 'n you know what...

Very cool shot John, and nice to know 80 mph isn't the norm. First time I've seen the Leica name in use, funny I was just mentioning that.

Slow and Steady wins the race! About the cost of fuel, ours has just gone up to $2.09 per liter (1 liters = 0.264172052 US gallons) So you can safely multiply that by 3 to get a gallon comparison

Thanks, Ka (and everyone!)
But don't get me started... No matter _which_ side of the Economics divide you are, Energy, Basic Sustenance, Health and Education (certainly _not_ the Hummer, BMW's or Chanel #5) cannot, should not, be allowed to cost ”what the market can bear“. Whereas for energy most of this control rests with a handful of companies in a miniscule no. of privileged countries, which control the production of oil (not its refinment!), the overwhelming impact is felt not locally but globally, disproportionaly by the most impoverished and vulnerable amongst us, families (women and children). Because of the cost of fuel (Energy), Basic Susteance, Health & Education is already becoming out of reach for primates, us. Without these, we better return to the forests (but which?!). Gasoline's over $1/L here.
Thanks, Ka, but don't get me started. The moment our Civilization turned ”21“, funny, we seem to have lost it... -
