Back to the bridge, 120 seconds

I can never go for terribly long without taking or posting a photo of this bridge. In this case, I took the photo some time ago, a few months at least. Before my trip to the Southwest.
I am always sort of amused by human behavior, and in particular when I am out on this bridge with my pinhole camera. First of all, I don't know what it is about a photographer intent upon his photograph alongside the road that so tempts people in cars to blare their horns at them as they scream by. Low hanging fruit I guess. The funny thing is, I am kind of used to this behavior, just in a different manner. When I used to run, the friend I always ran with and I would get honked and waved at all the time. Somebody would drive by and honk cheerily at us and wave like we were their second cousin who hasn't been by to visit in five years. We would of course wave cheerily back, then look at each and simultaneously ask, "Did you know that person?" and simultaneously answer, "no, I thought you did."
Ah well. Now people don't seem to honk so cheerily. Though when it is on the bridge, half the time it is cheerily because it is someone who recognizes me out on the bridge taking photos. Usually I recognize them, but not always.
Nonetheless, I am still amused by how much I can make traffic slow down on the bridge by putting my wooden pinhole on a tripod. I am not sure if it is plain curiosity at what I am doing, if they wonder if maybe I am about to blow up the bridge (I have had police officers stop on occasion just to chat me up, but they have always been polite about it), or if they are wondering if I am some sort of undercover officer looking for speeders, because most everybody speeds on this bridge. The limit is only 35, which does seem slow, but I am sure it is in place for a good reason, if only to annoy those folk who prefer to race over it at speeds in excess of 50 mph. Well that is what wooden pinholes are for.... ;-)
Anyway, that was all just a random tangent. I like this bridge. I like walking across it. I like finishing out a day on the shores beneath it or the hills to the south of it. There are few ways I better enjoy my time than a quiet hour here and there near this bridge.
Taken with my Zero Image 6x9 pinhole camera.
In the Everyone should have a St Johns Bridge photo essay.
