Kurt Graf Bridge

How many people pass over this bridge and ever think of what Kurt Graf gave for our Democracy... and I am sure Kurt never gave it a thought that people would remember - he just wanted to give so people could live free...

Thank you Kurt Graf and many more like you - thank you that our USA America is still free

Kurt GRAF - CIRCA 1915

Kurt Graf was killed in action during WWI somewhere between Rheimis and Verdun, France. He was in Conpany C, 150th Machine Gun Battalion, formerly known as Company F. The sacrifice made by Kurt, as well as other service men from Black Wolf, Wisconsin, is engraved on a plaque on a memorial bridge south of town (as reported in the obituary on his father, Henry Graf, in the Northwestern paper on May 25, 1927, page 16).
