My favourite local charity shop is called 'Beatniks & Bohemians'. Most of the time it's full of junkies or wannabees or desperadoes like me furiously combing the racks for a designer original. But last week when I visited, it lived up to it's name: Ayesha, pictured with her little dog, is a true Boho. Dressed completely in Fake Fur, she was telling the shop in general that she had been a female impersonator for twenty years at a long-gone, but still legendary Revue called 'Les Girls'. I was immediately fascinated, & asked if I could take her photo. She instantly agreed, marched outside, & stood looking up with her best side showing,clutching the dog & waiting for me to snap.
I think Ayesha manages to look Majestic & vulnerable at the same time.
