Taken just steps away from the neighborhood where I live, this empty place on the edge of a mountain range is my portal into a dream world. Aware only of the chaparral perfumed air, a hawk circling lazily overhead, something unknown rustling in the undergrowth, I leave my everyday concerns behind and become completely a part of this place that is eerily beautiful, and transporting.
